What’s the history of Yellowrock’s name? 

Ray & Afton Granger originally built Yellowrock Campground as a gathering place for square dancers, where music filled the air and every dance ended with a heartfelt ‘Yellowrock’ embrace. The name comes from this square dance term, meaning a warm, open-armed hug—a symbol of friendship, connection and shared joy. Today, we’ve grown into a full-fledged campground and event center, the spirit of community, warmth, and togetherness remains at the heart of everything we do, welcoming guests like old friends.
